What does a website actually cost?

My packages start at £229 and run to £1,299, depending on how many pages you need and how much custom functionality sits behind them. For context, freelance rates commonly land around £1,200 to £3,000, and agencies typically start higher again. Every quote is fixed before work begins, so the number in the proposal is the number you pay.

How long does it take?

It genuinely depends on scope. A small site is usually two to three weeks; a larger one with custom functionality runs to three to six. You get a fixed date in the proposal before any work starts, and regular updates if anything about it changes.

Do I own the site when it's done?

Once I'm done, you own everything: the code, the repository, the lot. I keep a copy of the repository for my own reference, but nothing is licensed back to me and nothing needs my permission.

Can I edit it myself?

Yes. Every site I build is documented and handed over with a walkthrough, so you can change copy and content yourself. If you would rather not, just ask me.

Every site I build ships with technical SEO done properly: clean semantic markup, fast load times, correct titles and descriptions, structured data, a sitemap and no crawl errors. That gives search engines everything they need to index and understand your site. What nobody can honestly promise is a position. Rankings depend on your competition, your content and how established your domain is, none of which are mine to guarantee.
